Stylus Phantasticus
The wait is over!! This recording will drop on August 20, 2021 on Reference Recordings

Violin virtuosa Tekla Cunningham takes center stage and leads our dynamic continuo team in a journey through some of the wildest, most colorful, and most emotionally-charged instrumental music ever composed. The violin becomes the ‘diva’ in opera-like works by Farina, Fontana, Schmelzer, and Biber and more. Featuring an extravagant continuo orchestra of Baroque guitar, chittarone (Stephen Stubbs), Baroque harp (Maxine Eilander), harpsichord, organ (Henry Lebedinsky) and bass violin (William Skeen). A Pacific MusicWorks release on Reference Recordings. www.pacificmusicworks.org

Between Heaven and Earth: A Year with Brahms

Violinist Tekla Cunningham and pianist Sheila Weidendorf have spent this past year and more immersed in the violin sonatas of Johannes Brahms, meeting weekly during the pandemic to form a micro-music pod. The lockdown has forced all of us indoors and inwards, and this time of reflection and deepening has been transformative one both personally and musically for this project. What began as personal exploration quickly became a chrysalis for transformation as the musical journey deepened over the course of the year together.

Tekla and Sheila will be playing the complete Brahms sonatas May 19th at Brechemin Hall at the University of Washington, and are embarking on a recording project as well.
